Bell Island is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law and has lived in Scotts Bluff County since 1994. A long-time Nebraska resident, Bell worked with the Scotts Bluff County Public Defender's office for four and a half years before opening a private practice in Scottsbluff. Bell continues to represent clients in the areas of Criminal Law, DUI, Divorce and Family law, Probate, Bankruptcy and Personal Injury matters.

Bell is a member of the Nebraska State Bar, Scotts Bluff County Bar, and the Federal District Court of Nebraska. Bell is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a Board Member of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association.

Prior to law school, Bell attended Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he graduated with a B.A. in History and Soviet Studies. While at Hamline he competed as a wrestler, performed in the theatre, and spent a semester abroad studying Eastern Europe.

When Bell is away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sharon and daughter Kiana. Bell is active in the Theatre West Program and is a coach for the Gering High School Mock Trial Team.
